March 12, 2009

Every March a white bass and crappie run occurs on the tributaries of the lake namely 110 Mile Creek and Dragoon Creek. Fishing conditions with warming lake temperatures from spring weather and precipitation make for some enjoyable fishing even on windy days fishing from a boat. Fisherman can also get out of the wind by fishing the Outlet stilling basin. Baits and equipment are readily available around the lake and Light House Bay is a good place to start a fishing trip on the lake. Don't Be A Sinker! Wear a life Jacket! The Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks has a zero tolerance policy for lifejacket violations.
